What a pitty! This morning we discovered that the 3rd edition of “Pneu Expo 2014”, the only tyre exhibition show in France, will not take place in April this year. Once we got this information we directly contacted the event organiser. Unfortunately for us, they could only confirm the decision. The official website of Pneu Expo has not been updated yet, that is why you cannot see the info. However it is confirmed that Pneu Expo won’t take place at Eurexpo, initially scheduled on the 9th and 10th of April.
Is the French Tyre exhibition show postponed or canceled?
Will France host a tyre exhibition for 2014? That’s the question we asked the organisers and so far they still do not know if it will be just postponed or canceled. In any case we can be 100% sure that it will not take place in April this year.
What happened?
It seems that the lack of exhibitors has caused the cancellation of the event. Because they are the main source of revenue, the high number of unconfirmed visitors led the event organisers to cancel the show.
Few consequences for the visitors
At TyreComp, we were more than excited to come and visit Pneu Expo in Lyon and we had even already booked our flight tickets! Fortunately, as the entrance of the Tyre exhibition is free, the financial consequences are minimised. Based on last year’s statistics, most of the visitors were locals coming from the Southeastern part of France.
Pneu Expo in a couple of words
Pneu Expo is a tyre exhibition show based in Lyon (France) at Eurexpo. This event is dedicated to tyres and its objective is to gather all the actors of this field (manufacturers, wholesalers, etc.). Last year, the show attracted 100 exhibitors (1000 tyres exposed, more than 150 brands) and welcomed more than 2,600 visitors.
