Avon, a well-known car, 4×4 and auto-tourism tyre brand, has at the end of May launched its new motorcycle tyre: the TrailRider. Aimed at trail paths, it is the “the most advanced tyre in terms of technology” that that this company has produced.
Technological jewel
Avon explains in its press release that two years of hard labour have been necessary to come up with the TrailRider. And for good reason: tri-rubber tyre tread, Carcasse AVB-D (Advanced-Variable Belt Density), 3D blades… The tyre boasts all the latest technologies.
Ashley Wolves, engineer responsible for the development of motorcycle tyres with Avon, explains: “we have a Trailrider skeleton so that this tyre provides a better grip and offers the best drive possible. Our chemists have put together a new mix of rubber which is enriched with silica, by taking advantage of the latest technologies available in this domain, to increase the grip on wet surfaces without compromising on the tyre life. We also use a multi-rubber mixture on the radial profile, which is softer on the sides for more adherence and and for the tyre tread to last longer to increase mileage.”
Not surprising, the TrailRider, which is a veritable technological jewel, brings great stability and precision for drivers, giving a straight line, on dry as well as wet surfaces. Its lifespan has also grown.
The TrailRider is finally available
The new TrailRider is available in a wide range of sizes -18 in total- in a diagonal and radial version. It is reserved for medium and large cylinders including the following ranges: BMW GS, Suzuki V-Strom 650 and 1000, Yamaha Super Ténéré, the Adventure KTM and Triumph Tiger 800 and Explorer.
